How it works?

For homestay families:

  1. From UHomestay homepage, click on “Become a Homestay”.
  2. Create a free homestay family profile by completing the 6 registration steps. Please note that your contact information will not be displayed online.
  3. After completing registration, you will receive a confirmation email with your username and password.
  4. Now your profile is available online for all students and can be viewed by clicking on “Find a Homestay” from UHomestay homepage.

To edit your profile:

  1. From UHomestay homepage, enter your username and password and click “Log in”.
  2. On the family profile  page, click on “Edit”.
  3. Edit your information and then click “Save Changes”.
  4. Click on “Log Out” to log out of your account.

Once a student is interested in your homestay, you will receive an email with the student information and you have the option to accept or decline.

If you would like to host this student, click on “accept” and your contact information will be sent to the student. If the student is still interested, the student will contact directly to finalize the agreement.

If you click “decline”, your contact information will not be sent to the student. If you declined because the room is not available, please make sure to update your family profile to reflect the new availability date.

For students:

  1. From UHomestay homepage, click on “Find a Homestay”.
  2. From the list of homestay families, choose the most suitable. You can also use the filter tool on the left side to narrow down the homestay families by:
    • Language
    • City
    • Family pets
    • Nearest skytrain
    • Nearest school
  3. Click on “Family Details” to check the homestay family profile including:
    • Family information
    • Room detail
    • Meals
    • Location
    • Pictures and Videos
  4. To contact the homestay family, click on “Contact” on the family profile page or “Contact Family” on the family listing page.
  5. Fill in your information and click on “Submit”
  6. An email will be sent to the homestay family chosen with your information.
  7. If the family accepts to host you, you will receive another email to confirm the availability of the homestay family. To get the homestay family contact information, you will be required to pay a handling fee of $10.
  8. If the family declines, you will receive an email to inform you that the family is not available. You can go back to www.uhomestay.com to choose another homestay family.
